Our thanks goes out to all of our wonderful clients, who have so willingly offered to share their perspective on our therapies and their Lotus Floating relaxation experience. And extra thanks to those who were willing to share photos!

Lotus Floating had the honour of looking after the wonderful Dr Darren Weissman at our studio on February 10th, 2011. This is what he had to say about his visit…

“My experience with Deanne at Lotus Floating was purely Divine!

After a long flight from Chicago to Adelaide, my first stop was to see Deanne.  I floated for an hour to restore my biological clock, detoxify my body, and relax my mind and body . . . Pure Bliss!

If that wasn’t enough, the Hot Stone Massage was the best I’ve ever experienced!  That says a lot considering I receive a massage every week.  You’re a blessing and I plan on making this a ritual every time I come to Adelaide.

Thank you Angel Deanne! Keep shining!"

With Infinite Love & Gratitude,

Darren

“Floating is one of the best and most relaxing things one can do for oneself.

I lead a ‘full on’ life and therefore to take time out for myself to recoup and regenerate at Lotus Floating is a MUST!  To float my stress away so I am more ‘present’ in my body is very important for me.   Deanne’s hot stone massage is the BEST I have ever experienced anywhere in the world.   Her hands work magic on my body and her caring nurturing nature nourishes my soul.

I think Lotus Floating is one of the best kept secrets in Adelaide and the whole world needs to know about it. Regardless of whether you are a busy mum or a corporate executive, we all need to look after ourselves to perform at our best.  If you want to change your state, feel fantastic and have your body sing, go to Deanne and experience her beautiful environment."

"Floating takes me straight to the 'repair zone'...

...that deep, quite place within where peace and stillness recharge and revitalise the weary human Spirit.

Nothing is more vital during these accelerated times than to be able to meet this mad, noisy world with inner quietness.

Lotus Floating Studio is the perfect place to experience floatation for the first time - private, aesthetic,

and very reasonably priced."

"Coming to Lotus Floating has given me the cance to let go of my stress and pain.

I tried floating about 20 years ago and loved it.  In October, 2010, after 6 weeks of various treatments for a painful frozen shoulder (physio, chiro and remedial massage), I felt frustrated that the treatments, (whilst giving me minor relief), were not fixing the problem.   The constant pain and demands of my business were creating a lot of stress for me.  I found Lotus Floating on the internet and rang straight away to book an appointment.

My body told me that having a float was what I needed to do to heal.  My feeling was that the localized treatments that I had been having were not working because I needed my whole body to relax to release that stress held in the muscles from my repetitive manual labor as a plumber.

Getting back into a float tank was a revelation.  To feel the stress and tension unwind out of my body and experience my mind settle into such a deep state of relaxation was such a relief – I felt all my stress just melt away.

After one float my shoulder felt looser and all of my pain was gone.  I couldn’t wipe the smile of my face…I felt so euphoric.

I came back for my second float a few days later and relaxed quicker and deeper into the float.  It was easier to relax into it the second time, because my stress levels were already so much lower because of that first float.  During that second float I felt my muscles relax, and I stretched my body out in the enjoyment of that feeling... I lifted my head and I heard and felt my shoulder pop loudly into place!  I stretched out again and felt a progressive spacing of my vertebra from the top of my neck - all the way down to my tail bone – a feeling of my whole spine spacing out and coming into alignment.

I am now free of pain and am floating regularly for the sheer pleasure of it, and to maintain my state of wellbeing.  That tension that was so familiar to me is now simply gone...

The studio is well set up and you are always well looked after. I highly recommend floating to EVERYONE, especially trades people, who work hard physically, and people that carry any stress and tension.

What have you got to lose, except that stress?

“Floating whilst pregnant was amazing!

It was like I was sharing the womb experience with my child.  At that time I was managing my full-time pilates business, with my husband away, and was on the verge of some major changes, both within my  business, and of course with becoming a mum.
I had little time for myself; I was stressed; had aches and pains; I had so much going on I could not hear myself think.

Thankfully I found Lotus Floating and was able to float, which gave me the space that I needed to take a rest from everything and everyone. And most importantly connect with my child in a very special, calming and unique way.

Floating helps me to clarify my thoughts and allows me to just ‘be’.  And whilst I am claustrophobic I can honestly say that it feels like just me and the universe when I am floating... kind of like a space man drifting peacefully away from the world.”

"Sauna at Lotus Floating is sublime!

I used to sauna regularly at The Belvedere on South Road, but they closed down. This left me searching for somewhere else to go for sweats. I was so disappointed by the saunas that I found at gyms, as they are not looked after well, there is no privacy and they were not run properly. It's ridiculous to wear clothing in a sauna! There was no way I would go to any of the seedy places in the city either, and I didn't want to settle for infra red sauna, as I so much prefer the heat of traditional steam sauna and infra red just seems so un-natural to me. Thank goodness I found Lotus Floating.

The studio is kept immaculately clean and there is a real sense of calm there. To know that the space has been carefully prepared so beautifully just for you, with a selection of essential oils, towels, filtered rain water, gentle music and even recovery drops (to replace electrolytes), makes you feel so welcomed and looked after, that you immediately shed your thoughts of the outside world when you step inside the door...sanctuary! This private space is truly a haven for me to just switch off, unwind and de-stress. I look forward to coming back the moment I leave!

Weekly sauna helps to keep me in great shape. I rarely get sick at all, my skin feels great, and I feel that because I relax so deeply when I sauna, and do it regularly, major stress doesn't have the chance to build up for me. I feel so much healthier, happier, energised and can just focus on what I need to better now, than when I wasn't having regular sauna.

"I had always wanted to try a hot stone massage,

so whilst in Bali holidaying, I thought I would give it a try, figuring this was the place for it. Disappointingly it was not that good, unlike the hot stone massage that I more recently received from Deanne, which to say the least, took me somewhere quiet different. I loved it.

The warm room, the hot stones, the even intuitive strokes melted my tired and exhausted new mother muscles back to normal.  I really did feel at peace when the treatment was finished and then to follow on with a float as well… I just felt like I had slept for a week!  That night’s sleep was so rested I don’t remember waking up through the night at all.

The best massage I have had in ages."

"Lotus Floating’s studio is an immaculate, luxurious and private space to take time out and slow the pace.

I enjoy sitting and meditating regularly and I find that I can often reach a peaceful sense of calm after maybe 20 to 30 minutes or so.  The float tank seems to take me to a glorious depth of calm within a very short time.  I thought I might fall asleep, but surprisingly I mostly seem to stay just in a glorious twilight and hover.  Time pauses and the body seems grateful.

The sense of calm that continues after the float is surprising and difficult to describe.  It never fails to put a smile on your face.

If life is going a bit quick and you need to reset the clock, treat yourself to a float in this glorious and peaceful space."

"Life has a way of challenging us as we journey through it...

... and for me just when I thought I was doing o.k. I fell into a dark hole and experienced some strange and scary events. This led me to find a different way of dealing with my health and spirit, and over the past several months I have looked at and tried many different modalities. Each one has helped a little, but by far the most rewarding has been floating.

The time I spend in the tank allows me to just let go of my past, let go of everything and just drift into myself and recreate myself at all levels. Each time I float I feel as if I have given birth to a new me and I step back into life with renewed hope and energy to create and expand myself into the joy and peace of living.

The Lotus Floating Studio is the place to be, to experience deep healing.

"I have two simple wishes in life...

...more time to do what I need to do and a few minutes of peace and quiet!

The more time wish may not be granted any time soon, as a busy businesswoman and mother of a 3 year old and a 9 month old, but I have figured out how to get that much needed quiet time. How? I book in for floats.

Imagine this......I leave thoughts of my children and businesses behind and start to unwind as I drive up the freeway to Mount Barker. As I turn off the freeway I start looking forward to the feeling of total relaxation that you experience in the float tank. I park outside of Lotus Floating, and leave any worries locked in my car. Deanne greets me by the gate and shows me around to the studio. I enter through the door and I am surrounded by gentle warmth and gorgeous aromas of essential oils. The studio is stunning, it is so private - and it is all yours after you have had your initial orientation tour.

Firstly I have a shower. This enables me to relax even further, before entering the tank, but leaves me with some difficult decisions to make! Which shampoo and conditioner to try this time? Solution - keep coming back for floats and try them all! After my shower I head to the tank. Quiet music is playing in the background as I step into the tank. I sit down, shut the lid and lie back. In an instant I am floating. I close my eyes and concentrate on my breathing, to distract myself from the busy thoughts in my head. The music plays for a while longer. I drift, in the water, I drift, in the mind. My mind lapses in and out of consciousness as my brainwaves change to alpha and delta waves. Business concerns and noisy children no longer exist - bliss!

Gentle chimes signal the end of my session. There is no hurry, I just gently bring myself back to full consciousness and slowly ease out of the tank. I head back to the shower and rinse of the salty water, and wash my hair using the beautiful Everescents shampoos and conditioners. I dress and comb and blow dry my hair, and I try some of the Hemp Hemp Hooray skin care and Everescents hair care products. I feel so completely relaxed and spoiled! Deanne greets me when I am finished and I purchase some products so I can take some of my experience home with me, and of course book in another float session.

If you have been thinking of trying a float, just do it, I know it is hard to take time out of your busy life, but this time to yourself, this time to relax can help you become far more relaxed and productive.

And let's face it, we all need some special time for ourselves. Happy floating!

‘My husband and I visited Lotus Floating to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

We each had a float and a massage. I had the float first and I had been looking forward to a whole hour to myself. Once inside the tank though my idea of time completely vanished along with my sense of my body. I had planned to consciously relax each part of my body but as I couldn't feel my body in contact with anything, that idea was out the window, instead I aimed to clear my mind. The more I let go in my mind the more my body let go.

Ever since I have had a heightened awareness of my body and the way I am holding myself up. And I enjoyed the sense of peace and stillness for some time after the float. The massage was wonderful too, the right amount of 'work' and relaxation and was great to have with the float. The studio is beautiful, it felt like we were in a five star hotel with such a lovely bathroom and beautiful products to use. We thoroughly enjoyed our treat and the time spent together, yet separately.’

I feel the need to share my experience of floating at the wonderful Lotus Floating Studio. I found this haven quiet by accident, when I was asked to go and see what it was all about at an open day.

As a clairvoyant and professional tarot reader who runs my own business and has a part time job as well, I find it very hard to take time out for myself, and I think everyone today finds it hard to relax... As I take on a lot of my clients problems, fears and hurts its hard for me to sometimes let it all go and just relax.

I can't tell anyone enough of the benefits I have found from floatation...
In this beautiful and relaxing place its very easy .....
You are welcomed ...And I mean welcomed to this beautiful place…
You get to use some wonderful product while you’re there…
The nurturing energy you feel starts the process that allows you to feel safe and able to relax…
It takes a little time, but before you know it.. You’re in this wonderful space of warmth, safety and just wonderful energy…
You can't help but relax

I feel that I have finally found a great way to relax without having to think about it or to worry about anything.  If you haven't tried this wonderful way to relax, you have not tried the best possible way.   You can listen to beautiful music or do a meditation while relaxing in a warm comfortable space free of all distractions.

I love it and must admit I am now hooked on it! Thanks Lotus Floating, for this beautiful place.

"As a fellow practitioner of alternative therapies, I wanted to experience the sensation of floating in a float tank with no external stimuli.

Although it took a little while for me to allow my body to relax completely (overcoming the bodies’ natural response to want to control everything), I eventually realised that I must be very relaxed because at one stage my body “jumped”, as it does when you nod off to sleep. Realising that I was completely safe, I then let-go and allowed myself to just ‘be’.  How wonderful it was to feel totally safe and secure and allow myself the time to just relax and let the mind wander wherever it wanted.

Afterwards I felt completely relaxed and yet quite rejuvenated at the same time.  The thought that has been put into the studio with the lovely shower and beautiful hair and body products available for use enhances the peaceful ambience.  I would recommend the float experience to anyone, particularly as a stress reliever"

"I am writing to share the amazing potential of the float experience, which allows whoever partakes of it, to receive many benefits.

This works on many levels. Firstly on the physiological level, the experience of being totally and safely suspended allows for a complete relaxation of the entire muscular skeletal system. (I imagine it would feel somewhat similar to being in a gravity free field). There is no pressure on the joints or muscles which is very beneficial for many conditions.

The sensory deprivation, that follows a gentle introduction in with music, facilitates the complete forgetting of the body. The body is warm, comfortable and relaxed and with all other sounds and light fading away, so then does the mind have the ability to drift gently and powerfully into altered states of consciousness, in which other resources are accessed - and after the experience – brought back into the here and now of the ‘floaters’ world.

This provides a wonderful environment for healing, problem solving of a unique kind and the sheer pleasure of being able to shut out, even temporarily, the absurd busy-ness of the modern world. One can seek peace and quiet or set ones intention for very specific purposes or for healing journeys.

One emerges into a calm, peaceful environment set up to provide nurturing and warmth. I strongly recommend the practice and advise 1 st time participants to book in for a series of floats as each one is a unique experience and as the body becomes familiar with the process one can travel further each time.
